Reagent cassette priority & rules
Priority — which cassette is used first
- Location of the reagent cassettes (cassettes in interim storage are always used first)
- Least remaining opening time (stability after opening)
- Earliest expiration date
- Least remaining onboard time (onboard stability)
- Least remaining runs left
- Least remaining tests
Rules
- Every reagent cassette requires a set of controls (positive & negative). If two cassettes for one assay are used on one run, two sets of controls are used.
- Reagent cassettes with less than 5 tests remaining are automatically discarded by the system.
- Maximum of 6 reagent cassettes per run, with a maximum of 2 cassettes per assay.
Well allocation on the processing plate
- Each reagent cassette reserves a minimum of 2 rows (16 wells) on a processing plate, even if these rows are not completely filled.
- After the first two rows, the system allocates individual rows until all samples are allocated or the batch is full.
- Each new reagent cassette is allocated to a new row.
- A bigger batch (within one run) is allocated to the first processing plate.
1 batch = 96 wells = 2 processing plates × 6 rows × 8 wells. MPX uses 4 control wells per cassette.
